Rules...Sure

6/13/2018

Daily Happy:
You never really think about this, it just happens. It is when you are being your authentic self and you are not letting your life be lead by society's rules.
Rule one: Don't talk to strangers.
Rule Two: They got themselves into that trouble, they can get
themselves out.
Rule Three: Be respectful of others.
And there are countless other rules that our brains have been trained to follow. These rules are meant to protect us from harm, but unfortunately they cause us to isolate ourselves from people other people who might influence you into doing or being something, for you, that was unimaginable.
Rule one, if followed, would prevent us from meeting anyone new AND it would give us this idea that people we don't know are strange. Rule two goes against many people's natural instinct of 'helping the herd,' and it assumes that we all have learned everything at the same rate as everyone else. Rule three needs an asterisk. Respect, for some, needs to be earned. For others, you have it until you lose it. And then there's the "you have it, you don't, you have it, you don't." I am not a huge fan of the word "respect." I find it disrespectful. Instead I like the word "awe." I like the word "admire." I like the word "great" or "wonderful." I like the word "loving." You see there are many many words that would aptly describe a person, who they are, how they behave, what 'type' of person they are towards other humans.
When you finally let go of society's norms, and be your authentic self, your people will know you. They will see you and be drawn to you. Who you are matters to them and they will be curious about you. You will not be a stranger, you will be someone they will want to be around.
Today, I am celebrating me. I am celebrating all the crazy wonderful things that have happened to make me who I am. I am happy. Really, these daily happys are no joke. I figured out a long time ago, my logic was flawed and that I only need to be myself to be happy. My journey, my pathway, my road taken is my happy for today. The losses, the gains, the tears, and the laughter from all 41 years have made me who I am today, and that is pretty neat.
So how do you apply this happy to yourself.Well, you could celebrate me, but that would be your choice. OR, you could choose to celebrate you. Take a look at how far you have come, how much you overcame and celebrate you.
Remember as always,
Happy Does It! ;o)

My name is Jaime, spelled with an "im" not "mi".  I never question myself. I have always loved writing.  I do not have much to say about myself.  I just want everyone to know that they are not alone.  There is nothing worse in life than feeling as if you are by yourself.
