One thing that I love to do, and that George and I do well together, is go for a drive and take a road trip.
Whether it is a trip to Cape Breton or somewhere on a map, I love going for drives and seeing where we end up. George and I drive well together, we never argue while driving. I think the reason for this is I am the navigator, and he is just the driver. George relies on me to give him directions, plus he appreciates it when I use my woman powers to make a trip less complicated, and more manageable.
Here is something to make everyone smile, or nauseous, however you think of this little story I am going to tell you. It is nothing huge, but it showed George's giving nature to me long ago. Every year, since my father passed away, I go Christmas shopping for my Grampa. He gets me to pick up things that he didn't get a chance to, but most importantly, I get to spend time with him, and he gets to spend time with me. In December 2000, I was very upset, I was unable to get down to my grandfather's house, and at that time, I had been talking with this guy (George) for a few weeks. George knew how upset I was, and he drove to Halifax to pick me up, to take me down to Cape Breton, so I could do this with my grandfather. The thing is, he drove the entire trek in one day. It was so sweet, and I have never missed the opportunities to go shopping with my grandfather, even when, in 2000, it didn't seem possible.
My favourite road trips are the ones where George and I have absolutely no idea where we are going. We have taken the girls on these trips, where, just for fun, George and I would turn down some road to see where it led.
Today, I am going for a road trip. I am doing my usual annual thing for my Grampa. A little different this year; he is in the hospital, but I am going to still go ahead as planned. In my car will be my best guy. Road Trips make me happy.
:o) VVVrrrrrooooommmmmm
