Daily Happy:
There are two daily happys today. One is the ever-beautiful butterfly, and the other is the sturdy ladybug.
Butterflies are fragile and sturdy. They start out as caterpillars, then go through metamorphosis. During this time, the caterpillar is in a cocoon, and will eventually emerge as a butterfly. Butterflies are something that my daughter Mairi loves. Whenever I see a butterfly I think of her. Beautiful, sturdy, fragile and resilient, an apt description of Mairi, and also of butterflies.
Now for the Ladybug. You may wonder why I chose the two, butterflies and ladybugs, as my happys. Well, a long time ago, I associated Ashleen and ladybugs. I believe it was because she loved the colour red and polka dots . And with her beauty, she could pull off wearing red in any season. Whenever George and I walk through Wal-Mart and I see little girl clothes with Ladybugs... I always think of Ashleen. She is my Ladybug. Amazing in every way.
I love both of my girls. Just like butterflies and ladybugs are different and unique, so are my girls. Mairi and George will sometimes team up on me...picking on me of course. When this happens, my girl Ashleen will rescue me with her quick- wittedness.
Our family is a non-traditional, mish-mash, but I would have it no other way.
So for everyone out there who has their own butterflies and ladybugs, hold them close but always let them fly.
Remember:
Be Present. Be Mindful. Be Happy.
Happy Does It! ;o)
