Daily Happy:
It's itchy, it shrinks, and sometimes it keeps you warm; my happy for today is wool.
There are a few things that I like about wool. When I was younger, we used to refer to our socks as 'woolies.' I just love that. For some reason, old 'pit' socks were all the rage to wear. Perhaps you may remember the craze of wool sweaters you wore as jackets. And I don't mean Lopies, although they were awesome in the '80s. And I am pretty sure that they are still in style in some hipsters basement. Save the planet and all that jazz.
Today, there is another reason for wool being my happy. Yesterday I told the story of a boy who irritated me, and then married me. Well, my story continues today.
Our first anniversary, George and I decided to take a small trip. We drove to Brier Island. It is a lovely drive and requires you to cross over two ferries. We stayed in the Brier Island Inn. It was lovely and very memorable. I highly recommend going there to anyone who loves the ocean and a little adventure.
Anyhow, fast forward seven years. George and I decided to return to the place of our first anniversary. George did some research on what was the gift for our 8th anniversary (of course he did.) It happened to be wool. We were kind of perplexed. What kind of wool could we get on this little tiny island off of Nova Scotia? We looked at the local wool hooked rugs, and they were beautiful, but God meant those for other people to enjoy. Most of the rugs were far out of any budget George and I could muster. And then we both saw it. The perfect gift for our anniversary. Nothing too fancy, and perfectly Jaime and George. It is a sheep fridge magnet made out of wool. AND we love it! <3
Good things come to those who wait.
Remember...
Be Present. Be Mindful. Be Happy.
Happy Does It! ;o)
