Why not try something new today? Let's do something that we have never done before. Try a different kind of food, a new exercise, visit a place you have never been to before. Just remember to mix it up. I know that if you are following these thirty days, you might feel like we have already taken this step, but you actually haven't. Think about it, if you try one new thing every thirty days you will do twelve new things a year. It will become somewhat challenging maybe, if you lose your imagination, new things might not enter into your mind. Perhaps you need some suggestions, and that it perfect. A lot of the time it is others that help you get out of that comfort zone. Just a little nudge!
If you continue to do the same things everyday without a little change the monotony will play tricks on your mind. It will make you feel like 'is this it?", or you will believe that you are meant to be a cog in a wheel of society. You will feel purposeless and this will be something that will make you feel blue, and if you have the propensity to become depressed, it is a perfect jumping off point.
So let's NOT do that. Let's go out and do something different. Anything. It could be going into a store you have never gone into before, for what ever reason. Here's a story for you to absorb. Several times a year I will drive to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia to visit relatives. The route that I take when I arrive on Cape Breton Island is route 4. I find it beautiful and a nice drive. Every time I drive to Cape Breton Island, and take route 4, I would pass a Christmas Shoppe in St. Peter's. Just this little shop on the left of the road, up a hill. Every time I would pass that store I would say to my passenger "I really should go there sometime, just to check it out", and every time I would pass it by and never stop in. After years of doing this same thing over and over, one time I just looked at my passenger and said "Okay I am doing this!" I turned left and went into the Christmas Shoppe. To my surprise, it was a cute little owner operated store with some nice decorations. Now I drive by, the store has moved into town; I am still glad that I went.
Another time, My Love and I were out for our drive(we travel magnificently together) and we decided to stop at a Provincial Park that neither of us had ever been before. The park is Grave's Island, located in Chester, Nova Scotia. It is this little island that has a campground and there are several walking trails around the park. We parked the car and got out. We walked the entire circumference of the little island and while en-route we ran into a little dark brown mink. He or She looked at us, we looked at the little fluff ball, and then moments later, it was gone. So awesome.
This past summer, My Love and I celebrated fifteen years of wedded bliss. Do you know what we did? Well, year fifteen is crystal, so we decided to go on a scavenger hunt. We took suggestions from friends, and we went out and had a blast.
Don't leave any room in your life for "What if?" It is those questions that will drive you mad. They will defeat you. It is only the limit of your imagination that shackles you.
So go out and try something new. Anything. You may not like it, but at least you'll know and can say it with certainty. Only you have the power to find your happys and embraces happiness, joy and love.
