When I got up this morning, I heard laughter. I walked into the living room, and my wife and daughter were sitting, drinking coffee and watching “Video on Trial.” I watched for a bit, and we all laughed. I got myself a cup, and they went out to run some errands together.
Big day today.
When they came back, we had to run a few more errands. All the time we drove, we cracked jokes. My wife said something about chicken strips. I started to “sing” the music to “The Stripper,” but like a chicken (you know… bok bok bok…). It’s silly, but we all laughed. Then my daughter threw in the line, “So, I guess when that happens, they throw bread crumbs,” which just made us laugh even harder.
We love to laugh. We laugh together a lot.
After we finished our errands, we went home and waited for my daughter’s boyfriend to arrive. When he did, we all piled into the car to take a drive.
Three weeks sure passed by quickly.
We reached our destination and parked. We went inside. After we took care of a little business, we sat and chatted for a bit. We all watched the clock. Despite old sayings, time marches on whether you watch or not.
Today is a really good day, even though it doesn’t exactly completely feel that way.
When the time came, there were hugs, loving words, promises. Then we walked outside, got in the car, and left. Well, three of us did.
Her adventure continues.
